Curriculum

EasyAs Driver Training uses a Proactive system of driver training that ensures Trainee Drivers have all the skills needed to safely drive unsupervised and by default will also pass the test.
This curriculum is based around the fundamentals of driving

  1. Vehicle Operational Skills - These are the basic skills such as how to Take Off, Change Gears, Do a Hill Start, Park the Car etc. You don’t need to be a great vehicle handler to be a good driver.
  1. Road Rule Knowledge - This is the most undervalued of all the skills required, No one would expect to become a great sportsperson without having a complete and thorough understanding of the rules of their chosen sport, but most people think they are great drivers but admit they don’t know the rules very well. It is hard to perceive what might go wrong when you don’t know what is supposed to happen in the 1st place.
  1. Hazard perception/Identification Skills - These are the skills we use to help us to identify or perceive the risks around us when driving. The Proactive curriculum used teaches people to take a worst case scenario and factor that into the style of driving they are using.
  1. Accident Prevention Strategies - This is how the perceived risk is managed, knowing how to modify your driving so that you control the risk before it happens, not after the event starts. A good example is when following other traffic a proactive driver slows downs when they observe another car may need to slow down instead of waiting for the car in front to slow down.
  1. Attitude Development - How to accept the responsibility you have when driving a car. Not to blame the other driver for what happened, but to assess the causes and identify how you contributed to the situation and how you can modify your driving, so that you become part of the solution to Road Safety instead of being part of the problem. To be a good driver you must modify your driving to accommodate the errors of other drivers.
NOT AFTER THEY MAKE THE ERROR BUT BEFORE THE ERROR!
